Jon Hicks is Global Health Director, Access to Healthcare at Amgen, where he leads efforts to expand access to medicines and strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries. He focuses on how global health strategies are translated into real-world access, shaping scalable approaches by aligning partners across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
With more than 20 years of experience, Jon has led and advanced humanitarian access programs, product donation models, and system-strengthening initiatives that reach patients at scale. His work has contributed to how organizations engage in low-resource settings, bridging strategy, partnerships, and delivery to drive sustainable impact.
He began his career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, leading health and sanitation programs serving hundreds of thousands of people annually—an experience that continues to shape his pragmatic, field-informed approach to global health.
